The only muscavado sugar i bake with.
No bitter taste at all as another reviewer stated.
Very bitter taste
I bought this for baking alongside other sugars which were light muscovado, golden granulated, and demerara. This was so bitter that it changed the taste of my usual baked treats. I also tasted a bit of the sugar directly afterwards and it is so strongly bitter that I had to throw it in the bin. Avoid if you really like strong to medium sweet tasting sugar.
tasty & Fairtrade
I like this sugar - although I wish it was organic. With regard to previous reviews, it says under product descriptions...'traded in compliance with Fairtrade regulation...' So it is Fairtrade even though it doesn't say so on the packaging
with my coffee
Healthier than white sugar
I make snack using this Muscovado with walnuts. Heat 150g walnuts in a flying pan without oil for 5 mins and put it aside. Mix 40g Muscovado with 2 tbs water well, and poor it in the pan till get bubbly. Then add the walnuts in it and mix till water evaporates. Spread the walnuts on a plate to cool down.
the BEST on porridge!
Gorgeous sugar, wonderful on porridge, where it melts to a lovely fudgy topping. I could (and occasionally do!) eat it by the spoonful from the pack! Agree though, it should be Fairtrade certified.
